We brought back some beautiful books from France for the little library we are setting up in Kikimi for the children in Natalie’s memory, some purchased at Livr’Afrique, some donated, and some from our childhood!

1.3    The STEPS Program:

A big thank you to those of you who are helping to translate the STEPS. Here’s the very first booklet almost ready for use (just need to fix a few little glitches). We’re so excited about it and the wonderful effect it is going to have on the children here and the future of Africa!

3      Medical Care and Equipment

The village is so happy with our little medical center. Everyone comes for medical care, but the biggest blessing is to be able to keep a close eye on all the school kids and nip things in the bud.

Last month, several of them came down with bronchitis so we brought back from France needed ORL equipment that is not available locally, along with other needed items.

All building materials have to be brought by “pousse-pousse” all the way to Kikimi because of the condition of the roads. Challenges never cease!
