Vocational Training
Our vocational High School combines theory with practical training. Students are getting a well-rounded education. Here you see them learn how to build a wall and lay the foundations for a building.
Their professor also took them this month on an excursion by the N’Djili River where the Chinese have a site, as part of a major project of building a highway that will go to the airport without having to go through the city of Kinshasa, where traffic jams have become extremely problematic.
Academic Training:
All the students are taking their mid-year exams before the Easter Holidays.
2 Maintenance : Rehabilitation of the School Roof
Fifteen years ago we built a Primary School for the vulnerable children of Kikimi village to fight against child labor and homelessness. Because of the very heavy rains in this part of the world near the equator, where it rains 9 months out of the year, the roofing had starting to leak, which could damage the structure and make it difficult for the children to be in school. Thanks to a grant from LiftUp, the work has now started.
3 News from Aristote
This month, we were able to help Aristote with the fees he needed to defend his memoire at the University of Civil Engineering, which will enable him to get his diploma as an engineer.
We also helped him start the work of setting up a place (160 m2) for his children ministry. He has been given an empty plot to use for 3 years, but it needs protection from the rain. He needs more materials (beams, roofing, toilets and tiles) to complete this project. Aristote has a very fruitful ministry among street children, using Christian materials (STEPS Program) to rehabilitate them from a life of crime and teaching them how to turn around and help their fellowman. Please pray for supply of all the materials he needs. Thank you so much!
