TENAFEP and Reaching Water: June 2018
1 TENAFEP: Final Exam for Primary School Students
This year, our school served as an examination center for students coming from four different primary schools. The examination lasted two days. We hope the results will be as encouraging as in past years.
2 Clean Water Project
Things are going according to schedule so far, which is nothing short of a miracle in this country. We’ve reached water to everyone’s great excitement. While we sent a sample to the lab to get the water tested, people from the village started flocking to fill their containers from the temporary pump. They just couldn’t wait for the lab results, which shows how desperate their need for water is. The results came back after a few days: the water is clean! Meanwhile, the masons finished the foundation for the water tower which will be brought by crane at the end of the month. The workers have also started to build the water fountains and the “margelle”, a protective brick housing for the well. Next we will be installing the photo-voltaic panels on the roof. The two water cisterns that will be on top of the water tower have already been purchased and delivered. Then, we will proceed with the installation of the water distribution system, which will include digging trenches and installing pipes. Finally, the solar pump will be installed.
In answer to last month’s prayer, they are now putting black top on the road leading to Kikimi, which is fantastic, but has temporarily closed portions of the road for a few days at a time while work is in progress. Thanks for praying the road gets done so that it doesn’t hinder our coming and going to complete this well project on time.
A very big thank you to each one of you who has donated to make this project possible. Truly, we couldn’t do it without your help! May God richly bless you!
And for those who haven’t yet, please know it’s not too late to contribute. You will find all the details by clicking on this link.
And here are some video clips:
Excitement over the water after it just came up from the well:
Faith is not only daring to believe, it is also daring to act. When I believe in myself as a son of God, I attribute to all men the same quality. This goes for men of every class, creed and color. The proof that I believe this way will be measured by the way I act towards others.
