1 Education
The main and very special event this month was the invitation received by Jewels Internatlonal School of Kinshasa for about 20 of our students to visit their school. The founder of the school, Mrs. Munshi, sent a bus all the way to Kikimi to pick them up and bring them to the capital. She organized fun activities for our students, including a snack. It was great for our kids to interact with these children from other nationalities. What a special day that was for them as many of them never get a chance to get out of their village.
2 Sports
The younger grades usually do a little gymnastics before entering the classroom, moving around helps them to sit still later.
A penalty contest was organized between the 11th and 12th grade girls, with the football donated by Mrs. Munshi. The whole school was there to watch and cheer and everyone had a lot of fun.
3 Health
We are so thankful for nurse Christine to have come back to help at our clinic. There’s always a need with so many children attending school.
4 Women Empowerment
Mrs. Neema donated all the ingredients to make doughnuts (fritters) as a way to generate some income for the school.
5 Youth Ministry
This month, Aristote organized a 3-day retreat for the young people he has been training. The theme was eschatology, and Olivier came to show the documentary on Daniel chapter two.
Aristote is supposed to defend his thesis this month but is having a hard time finding the huge amount of money required by his university to do so. Thank you for keeping him in your prayers for the supply he needs.
