1 Education
Our school has, once again, been chosen as an exam center for the 6th graders of the area. The children are now preparing for this exam, the date of which is yet to be set by the Ministry of Education.
2 Goods Distribution
This month, our friend Neema donated, besides the monthly sanitary protections, a large quantity of supplies for our medical center. May God bless her and all our benefactors.
Thanks to our generous and faithful donors, we are able to cook and serve hot meals to the children.
This cute little girl came to our center with a very high fever. She has now well recovered.
Quite a few babies were born this month. Some of the deliveries were difficult, but thanks to prayer and Florence’s care, all mommies and babies are healthy.
4 Agriculture
The economic repercussion of the corona crisis has left many families destitute, often even unable to purchase food when they have lost their previous means of income. Theo and Florence decided to offer to some villagers the opportunity to grow vegetables in the plot of land behind the school, which they can sell or use for their own consumption: cassava, pineapples, citronella, spinach, etc. They’re also cleaning up the old ponds to breed fish.
5 Youth Ministry
Olivier has been able to continue holding small meetings in his neighborhood with his students. Below is his account of last month’s study on the theme of humility:
“In today’s society we only think for ourselves. Most of the time it is the spirit of individualism that reigns in each one of us. Everyone is always looking out for his or her own interests without thinking about others. The images presented to us by the media on racial violence, tribalism or the supremacy of certain races in the world is one illustration, among many others, of the pride that gnaws at the heart of man.
Even among Christians there is also a certain form of spiritual pride, an attitude shown by someone who believes that he is better or has a more privileged position than others in the exercise of his ministry, or who believes that he has a gift or talent superior to others in his ministerial tasks.
Now the Apostle Paul exhorts us in Philippians 2:3-4 by saying: Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
One author sums it up by saying: ” If we want to cultivate humility in our lives, the starting place is a focus on God. As we grow closer to Him, spending more time concentrating on Him, learning about Him, talking with Him, and making room for Him in our lives, He grows in importance to us and begins to take up more of our “field of vision,” so to speak…”.
6 Thank You
We are so thankful to each of you who, faithfully and generously, continues to support this project. You make all the difference in the world in the life of each of the children who benefit from your help. We are proud to work by your side to help make this world a little better place.
