News for the month of May 2026
1.News from another orphan boy
Theo was able to get in touch with Kongolo, one of the orphaned boys SABEC took under its wings back in 2009, and who studied in our school. After finishing school, he took a course in security. He is now a happy grown man and works as a taxi driver. Theo was not able to film him, but he recorded his conversation… in Lingala. Here is the gist of what he said, with tears in his eyes:
“I am very grateful to God who helped me to come out of the pit of despair where I was as a child. I thank Theo and his wife Florence who sacrificed to take care of me when no-one else thought I would be any good to society. I also thank all those who did what they could to sustain me, may God bless them. I will never forget what SABEC did for all of us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

4. Aristote’s Bakery Project
Aristote is courageously plodding along with this bakery project. When a competitor had taken some of his clientele, he had the bright idea to start baking pastries, which gained him back the clientele he needed. Unfortunately, he ran into some difficulties when he bought a new batch of flour, that had something wrong with it and wasn’t making good quality bread. He was unable to exchange it, which slowed down his production as he can now only afford to purchase one sack of good flour at a time, and he hasn’t been able to start paying back the funds he had borrowed to get started. Let us keep him and this project in our prayers that it can succeed in spite of these difficulties.

4. Youth Ministry
Jacques’ Sunday School class.
