1   Goods Distribution

A big thank you to our donors who faithfully contribute to giving food items that help keep the children in good health and studying well, as most of them do not have sufficient food at home. Donations of sanitary items help keep the older girls in school. This month, Mr. Mahesh donated basic staples of the typical Congolese meals: Pondu and fufu. Pondu is made from the leaves of the cassava plant (or manioc), after pounding and crushing them before cooking them. Fufu is made from the root of the cassava, also after a long process of soaking in water and fermenting the roots for 3 or 4 days, then drying and grinding them to powder before cooking them in boiling water, forming a ball. It is sometimes mixed with maize flour, and eaten with a meat and/or vegetable sauce. Peanuts are also a favorite item, rich in protein, and often used as a paste in cooking, mixed with vegetables.

2   Education: Improvements

Thanks to a donation from LiftUp, we were able to install a satellite dish for the school. Having internet will greatly improve our communications, as well as the children’s education. We hope it will also help the school to become more self-sufficient in the future by making it available to the village.

3   Youth and Children’s Ministries

Jacques faithfully continues to minister to these children, teaching them godly values during weekly classes. So do Fabrice and Aristote. Please pray they each can find jobs to support themselves and their ministries. They are well educated and hard workers but are struggling under very difficult and harsh conditions to make ends meet.
