1        Education

Exceptionally this year, our school reopened on October 4th. We are happy to welcome new women teachers, and to start a pre-school class, using for now the tailoring classroom which is free in the morning.

A big thank you to Mrs. Sameera who is going to donate a swing set for the pre-school children.

2        Distribution of goods/Services to the Poor

 

We are so thankful to the Rizwan Adatya Foundation who, at the beginning of every school year, donates all the notebooks and pens needed for the students: 12 boxes of notebooks, 1 box of pens, about 60 books for the library, including biscuits and drinks for the children.

 

 

We would like to also thank Mrs. Neema for donating the cloth needed for the school uniforms, which were beautifully made by our tailoring class.

 

 

 

 

A big thank you also to SOKIN and to Mr. Abdul, Jean-Emile, Mahesh, Rathi Mukund and Alibhai for their donations of food (milk, rice, sugar, sardines, spaghettis, meat, drinks, biscuits and corn flour) and clothing, which are a great blessing to the children.

 

3        Maintenance

While we were in the process of doing maintenance on the well, a huge electric storm damaged the controller box of the solar pump, which we are going to have to replace. Thankfully, the pump itself has not been damaged. To prevent further possible damage, we will also add another lightning rod on the roof of the medical center, as the existing one was not sufficient.

 

4        Children and Youth Programs

The educational and character-building activities for children continue in several parts of Kinshasa with Fabrice, Aristote, Jacques, Cédric and their helpers. Aristote also organized English classes and Bible studies for young people in a new venue.

Jacques travelled all the way to Tshikapa in Kasaï where he had worked as a surveyor and had met a youth pastor who invited him to hold a seminar for young people on the subject of adoration. When he got off the plane, he had to travel about 50 km on a moto taxi over very rough terrain, but after seeing the enthusiasm of these young people, he is ready to return in a few months upon their next invitation.
